Top of AlHarra is short, steep, and honest — 1.2 km of climbing that rewards the effort quickly. Fit walkers reach the plateau in around twenty minutes; most take closer to an hour, and that's fine. The trail pushes upward without much in the way of switchbacks, so you'll feel it in your legs and your breathing from the start. What waits at the top is the reason for the climb: the Madakhel Plateau opens in every direction, with AlUla's canyons and rock formations spreading out below. Come down the same way, carefully. Short distance, real payoff.
